Web Monitoring

Web Monitoring Systems or WMS, and have become a standard means of solving and eliminating even the most difficult paper machine runnability issues. It is estimated 
that there are now over 1000 WMS systems around the 
world with Europe and North America representing around 80% of the installed base.

WMS systems have over the last decade become more intuitive allowing operators to quickly and efficiently find 
the root cause, or origin, of their break causing defect or other quality issue. Papertech’s TotalVision software and WebVision® cameras can monitor a preset region of 
interest on the paper web and alarm for any change in the sheet. WMS cameras now function the same way as web inspection systems (WIS) located at the reel. With 
TotalVision synchronisation, defects mapped at the reel by WebInspector® can now be traced back to their exact location on the machine.

Web Inspection

Papertech’s WebInspector® web inspection system (WIS) represents the latest technology for inspecting all types of paper and tissue grades. Not only is our WIS available with both linescan and matrix cameras, but it utilises a wide range of custom LED lighting configurations to see all the different types of paper defects. TotalVision synchronisation with our WebVision® web monitoring system (WMS) and other manufacturer’s web monitoring systems, allows the root cause of defects to be quickly identified and eliminated.

Papertech first introduced the wet end web inspection in 2008. WebInspector systems include a dedicated software package, and can be installed as an inspection only system or sychronized with a WMS (web monitoring system) operating with WebVision. Together, they make up TotalVision, a complete defect and break detection solution.

iSTOP+™

iSTOP+™ represents the industry’s first non-marking solution for accurately measuring the machine direction (MD) sheet position at the winder. There is no need for ink, lasers, or any type of marking when using our iSTOP+™ camera image pattern matching solution (patent pending). The maintenance and safety issues associated with ink and laser type marking are eliminated from winder control, with the added benefit of increased system reliability.
